WHY IT MATTERS
From around 30, we start losing muscle.
It does not have to be inevitable. But it does need to be addressed.
Current research points to strength as one of the biggest predictors of long-term health, not just how long we live; but how well. Muscle supports metabolic health, stabilises blood sugar, protects against chronic disease and reduces the risk of falls and frailty. It keeps us independent.
For women, strength training also plays a direct role in bone density. Resistance-based exercise signals the body to lay down new bone tissue, one of the most effective tools available for preventing and managing osteopenia and osteoporosis.
As Dr Gabrielle Lyon puts it: "The quality of your life is a direct reflection of your muscle health."
It is never too late to start. The important part is starting well.

THE EVERSTRONG GYM · EALING

Strength training done well looks different.
Most people know they should be strength training. Far fewer have been taught to do it in a way that is genuinely safe, progressive and tailored to them.
What Liz brings to strength training is 35 years of movement teaching and 25 years of training other movement professionals. The observational skills developed through dance and Pilates give her coaching a different edge, she spots the smaller details that many trainers miss, the things that are often the difference between lifting heavier and getting injured.
Every session is built around conversation, observation and feedback. A programme built around your body, your history and what you are actually trying to achieve.
"Completely bespoke programmes to suit what you need most with the right amount of accountability to keep you on track.”
WHO TRAINS AT THE EVERSTRONG GYM
From complete beginners to European champions.
Current clients include women in their 50s building muscle for the first time, seasoned exercisers who want more structure and precision, and Pilates clients who found that a solid movement foundation gave them the confidence to approach the weights room.
One client, a former European champion handball player, has said that had she trained with Liz during her competing years, she believes she would have made it to the Olympics.
But the results Liz is most proud of are simpler than that. The clients who came in terrified of the gym and now cannot imagine a week without it. The women who arrived apologising for not knowing what they were doing and left knowing exactly how their body works.
"The difference between Liz and other personal trainers I have worked with is that Liz actually listens."
"Within a couple of months I can feel the benefits."
"I have weekly sessions with Liz, I can’t imagine my life without them.”
