Are the workouts just videos to follow along to?
No. Every Pilates, strength and HIIT session is coached, not just demonstrated. You hear Liz’s cues all the way through, as if she were in the room with you.
Is mat Pilates actually a good workout?
Yes. Mat Pilates builds core strength, control and flexibility using bodyweight alone. It is also a wonderful way to build the mind-body connection, training you to better understand where you are in space, known as proprioception.
Is 20 minutes of Pilates a day enough?
A full 60-minute mat practice, whenever you can fit it in, makes for a well-rounded workout. But the real strength of mat work is that even 10 minutes a day is genuinely beneficial. Roll out your mat, move for 10 minutes, then carry on with your day, far more achievable on a busy day than getting hot and sweaty at the gym. What matters most is consistency. Consistency tends to matter more than duration. A shorter, focused practice done regularly can build strength and body awareness over time, particularly when paired with the guided sessions.
What equipment do I need?
You don’t need a whole collection of equipment. Everything can be done with just a mat and a little space, and Liz always gives alternatives using things you already have at home.
Do I need previous Pilates experience?
No. Options and guidance are offered throughout every session.
Can I do Pilates online for free?
Free content exists, but it typically won't offer coaching on form or progression. In the Shaw Lifestyle Membership every session is coached, not just demonstrated, for £20 a month, or £15 for founding members.
Ready to begin?
Progress rarely comes from intensity alone. Often it comes from consistency, awareness and giving the body the right input over time.
